Group training

Empower your team with brain-based solutions.

What topics are available?

My training programs cover a range of areas at the intersection of neuroscience and inclusion.

Currently-available topics include:

  • This training covers:

    • What cognitive diversity is and how it contributes to excellence.

    • Neuroscience research showing how our brains all work differently.

    • Strategies for creating environments where all types of thinkers can thrive.

  • This training covers:

    • Neuroscience research that shows unconscious bias happening in the brain.

    • How and why our brains are wired to create stereotypes and bias.

    • Brain-based strategies for mitigating the effect of bias in the workplace or classroom.

  • This training covers:

    • Neuroscience research that demonstrates how inclusion positively impacts the brain.

    • The neuroscience of relationship building, such as trust and empathy.

    • Brain-based strategies for facilitating inclusion and belonging in the workplace or classroom.

How are the training sessions designed?

Interactive. Individual activities and group interaction get participants actively working with the content so they’re prepared to apply it in real workplace situations. Activity examples include guided individual reflection, creative idea generation in small groups, scenario analysis, and open discussion. Multiple ways to participate are integrated in order to facilitate a safe, inclusive, and productive environment for all participants.

Customized. Facilitate connection between the training session and organizational activities with examples and scenarios tailored to your work. No previous experience in neuroscience is needed to benefit fully from this training; content is adjusted for all audiences including brain experts and groups without previous training in neuroscience.

Solution-oriented. Inspire meaningful change by equipping participants with relevant and feasible brain-based actions that they can implement in their work. Increase motivation to put the learned material into practice through goal-setting exercises and accountability check-ins.

Virtual or in-person. Training is available in virtual, in-person, and hybrid formats. I’m based in Montreal, Canada and would be happy to meet you where you are.

Training packages:

  • Single workshop or talk

Description: An overview of one aspect of the neuroscience of inclusion or inclusive research. Participants will gain foundational knowledge and strategies that they can implement on their own.

    Duration: Up to two hours.

Best for: Integration within an existing conference or speaker series.

  • Breadth series

Description: One Think Differently Together session, one Bias in the Brain session, and one Belonging Boost session. Participants will gain broad knowledge and a wide variety of strategies that they can implement on their own. While participation in the whole series is encouraged for maximum benefit, the sessions can be attended independently.

Duration: Three weekly sessions of two hours each.

Best for: Groups looking to grow the available knowledge and solutions in their organization, and engage participants with a range of interests.

  • Depth series

Description: Intensive programs designed to motivate and guide participants through action implementation at the individual and structural levels. Participants will gain foundational knowledge in neuroscience, explore research-supported strategies to promote inclusion, and work through the design and practice of their own action plan.

Duration: Ten weeks. Includes five two-hour group sessions, guided individual activities between sessions, and ongoing online discussions.

Best for: Groups committed to meaningful change and accountability.

    Three series are available:

Think Differently Together depth series focused on building cognitively-inclusive spaces where all types of thinkers can thrive.

Bias in the Brain depth series focused on neuroscience-informed strategies for reducing and interrupting unconscious bias.

The Belonging Boost depth series focused on neuroscience-informed strategies for building acceptance, trust, and strong team connections.

  • Collaborative program

Description: A combination of my neuroscience approach to inclusion with the complementary expertise of trusted partners from a wide range of fields. I’ll design a customized training program for your organization, engage partner facilitators, and offer synthesis sessions to bring multiple perspectives together. Custom combinations of duration, topics, and facilitators are selected based on each organization’s specific objectives.

Best for: Groups committed to long-term training and to working with individuals with varied expertise, identities, and lived experiences - and who would like the overall training program design and partner engagement taken care of by an experienced training designer.

Open invitation for new partners! Contact me if you work in any area relevant to equity, diversity, and inclusion training and are interested in joining future collaborative programs.
